In addition to visiting the Georgia Aquarium we also visited the zoo in Atlanta. I was very excited about visiting this zoo because it is one of only four zoos in the United States that has a panda bear. There were two pandas when we visited. We saw the 22-month old cub and it's dad. The mother had been shipped back to China. We also got to see a komodo dragon. One of the most exciting animals we saw was the elephants! Now I know what you are thinking, an elephant? that's not special! 
Oh, but it was. The elephant area had an indoor/outdoor living area and "Tera" the elephant came inside the "house" while we were inside. Claire cried because we were soooo close to her, but Ava loved it. We also visited the petting zoo, but the girls were to scared to pet the animals so we didn't stay there very long. 
The zoo was very shady and nice and there were not a lot of people there the day we went. Me, the girls, Lois, and Hayden went to the zoo by ourselves since Eric and Kelly had meetings all day. Overall, we had a great day!
