Celebrating the Fourth on the Fifth

This year the Fourth of July landed on a Sunday, therefore, the city decided not to host the fireworks
display until Monday, July 5th! However fear not, we celebrated the fourth all weekend starting with a cook-out at Uncle James's house. We enjoyed good food with family and the girls loved swimming in the pool! It was such a nice evening that Ava and Claire did not want to leave. Sunday we went to church, of course, and heard a wonderful sermon followed by lunch at Grandma's as usual. Monday night we set off around 8:30 to see the fireworks which were scheduled to start at 9:30. On our way to our usual spot, we got rear-ended! We were all okay, but the driver of the other vehicle left the scene! Thank goodness there was a police car right there that heard it happened and he chased after the guy as Kelly drove behind the policeman. Thankfully, there were no injuries to us or Kelly's truck and there were no difficulties with Kelly not having his license or insurance card!!!! We called Grandpa and he came to pick me and the girls up so they could see the fireworks.

Finally, Kelly joined us and we enjoyed boiled peanuts, sweet tea, and a good time.
