While Kelly and I were at the race the girls were busy sewing with Aunt Connie. Aunt Connie is an excellent seamstress and she has sewn many pillowcases, quilts, Christmas tree skirts, etc for my family over the years. She is even a state quilt winner! She enters her quilts in state fairs and often times wins!! Knowing this, the girls were so excited to get some alone time with her and learn to sew.
When we returned from the race, each girl had sewn themselves a pillowcase and a pocket book (with the exception of Julianna. She stills needs a little help). In addition, the girls had sewn a pillowcase for me and one for Kelly for our anniversary. Both big girls loved sewing but I think Claire liked it the most. She wanted to stay in the sew room for the rest of our stay. Aunt Connie said the girls picked up on sewing very quickly and with a little more practice they could become excellent seamstresses. I definitely think purchasing a sewing machine is in our future.
