Christmas Eve 2013

Tonight we continued our tradition of attending Christmas Eve service at church and going to my mom and dad's after the service.  This year during the Christmas Eve service, Ava and Claire, along with the other children's choir members, walked in singing Silent Night while holding a candle.  The service consisted of prayer, singing and praise.  Brother Bill's message was to "just breathe".  I thought it was very fitting message as most people, myself included, rush, rush rush during Christmas without taking a moment to breathe.  Just sit, be still, and enjoy being in God's house worshiping him and giving thanks!

Once we got to my parent's house we ate a delicious meal of spaghetti and chili.  We always eat "non-traditional" holiday food on Christmas Eve.  After supper we all gathered to open gifts.  Our family was excited to have Cassie's boyfriend, Nick, with us for Christmas and I think he also enjoyed being with us.  We have a large family and when we get together it gets loud with laughter, singing and jokes!  I wouldn't have it any other way!

After we got home, the girls sprinkled reindeer food on the front lawn and laid out cookies and milk for the big guy; then they scurried to bed.

Finally got the hair wand she wanted

The Doc is in!
