Ava was picked to play on the 8u softball all-star team this year. There were thirteen girls selected from the three recreation teams and since this was Ava's first year playing fast pitch softball, we were excited that she made the team. The coach told us to get ready for a busy few weeks and man was she right. The girls had practice pretty much every weekday for two hours and a tournament every Saturday. The tournaments were all day and one Saturday the girls played five games with only a forty-five minute break! Not to worry, we made sure Ava had plenty of water and her Frogg Togg was always cool. I asked her several times if it was too much, to which she replied, "No, I love it!"

The girls did not win their district but they did win some games. Most importantly they got better and they worked as a team. Ava even hit an in the park homerun! It was a great experience!
