Today was a big day for Ava Murray! She got up early this morning and went fishing with Kelly for several hours. She came inside to clean up and get ready to go to the racetrack. Today was the opening day and practice for the racecar drivers at the local race track. Kelly's family has always owned a stock car and they have been racing at the local track for 30 years! Last racing season, Ava always knew when her daddy was going to the race track and wanted to go with him. This year we thought she was finally old enough to go with him. Equipped with ear plugs and headphones, she set out to the race track for the first time. She got to stand on top of the trailer and watch the race cars practice. She also got to sit in the race car! Kelly said she loved the whole experience and is thinking about taking her back one Saturday night. After her adventures at the race track, she and Kelly met up with me and Claire in town and I took her to a birthday party. Finally, at 6:00 we headed home and she immediately fell asleep. What a day!!!!
