Back to School

 Today was the first day of school for the 2014-2015 school year.  Ava is in the 3rd grade, Claire is in the 1st grade, and Julianna is still at daycare.  However, Julianna is now permanently on the "big kid" side.  She will be doing little lessons and activities and of course, playing.  Ava is in the GATE (gifted) program this year and is excited about the activities they will be doing.  Third grade has been described as a very difficult year as the rigor dramatically increases, so Ava will have a lot of work ahead of her.  Claire will also be attending the GATE class as a high achiever as she has not been tested for gifted yet.  Kelly is entering his second year at the high school and fifth year as assistant principal (12 years total).  I am entering my fifth year as the media specialist at my school (13 years total) and we both love our jobs!  By all reports, everyone had a wonderful day.

Julianna received her first homework assignment today as well.  Her class is learning the letter "F" this week so she had to decorate the letter F and return it to school.  She enjoyed doing this but only wanted to glitter her letter.  Her homework project turned into a whole family project.  Ava and Claire decided they needed to make a project with Julianna!  Good family time!!
