| Granny Mel and the kids |
Each summer the Peach State Summer Theater Series performs several plays around the south and for the last two years the girls and I have been invited by Granny Mel to attend these plays. Granny Mel is my sister's husband's mother. Each summer she gets tickets for Lealane, Olivia, and Owen and she has so generously included my girls each summer as well. This year the play we attended was "Go, Dog, Go!" This book has a Dr. Seuss feel but it is written by P.D. Eastman. To say the play was good would be a terrible understatement. It was great!! The actors and actresses were so good and this play was interactive with the crowd at certain points. At the very end of the play, confetti fell from the sky and all the kids went nuts. Ava said, "Mama, it's like being on American Idol!" As we left the auditorium, the "dogs" were standing outside waiting to give autographs and pictures. Ava went around to each "dog" and had them sign her play bill. Claire had her picture taken with one of the dogs, but was a little shy when it came to seeing all of them. As we left the building, Ava said, "This was so worth the drive!" She was definitely right!
