Ava's First Soccer Game

Today was Ava's first soccer game. This was her first day playing any sport with other kids and it was not very good. During the warm-up, she did really good, but once all the kids got on the field, she clammed up and started crying. She cried more than she played! She did not want any other kid to take the ball from her...and of course they did. Kelly and I tried to explain to her that it was okay if the ball was taken from her, she needed to run after it and try to take it back! Towards the end of the match, she started doing much better! She chased after the ball and got to kick the ball a couple of times. It was a beautiful day and Gigi, Papa, Grandma, & Grandpa came out to see her play! Claire wanted to get out there too, but occupied herself with a pink balloon!

Kelly and I talked with Ava about how sports are played and that all we want her to do is to have fun!! This is going to be a good experience for her!!
