The day was nice and the zoo we visited was well laid out. It's basically a giant loop so it is easy to stay on track. We started our visit in "Africa" where we saw wart hogs, rhinos, zebras, huge snakes, elephants, lions, and giraffes. Julianna has recently taken a great interest in elephants and kept asking to see them. They had three elephants at this zoo and Julianna actually gasped when she saw them! She kept pointing at them saying "efphant"! Luckily these elephants were being fed at the time so they were active and flapped their ears a few times!

After we left the elephants, we made our way around to the giraffe overlook. There was a crowd of people on the giraffe pavilion and as we got closer we could see why. People were in line to feed the giraffes! These beautiful animals were within arms reach! We decided to let all three girls feed them, so we paid our money and got in line. Ava and Claire could reach the giraffes without assistance but I had to help Julianna. I have to say that feeding these huge animals was amazing!
We continued our way around the park to see jaguars, monkeys, flamingoes and many other animals. We were sure nothing would top the giraffe feeding, but oh were we wrong! We decided to go into the Lorikeet aviary and feed the birds. In my mind I envisioned myself holding out my hand and the birds landing on me and drinking the nectar. And I was right!!! We started off feeding birds on a branch and then as we moved around and got closer, one bird stepped right onto Kelly's hand. Once the girls saw this they just had to try it themselves! The looks on Ava and Claire's faces says it all! They were thrilled!!! That was hands down the best exhibit in the whole zoo!!! Once we left, they kept begging us to take them back and do it again:)
After leaving the aviary, we continued around the zoo to see the rest of the animals! It was a great day with great experiences!
