Day 1- Magic Kingdom

The first day we went to the Magic Kingdom. We hit Fantasyland pretty hard riding rides like Dumbo, It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Magic Flight, and visiting the princesses. The lines were not very long, thank goodness! The longest line was Dumbo and it was about a 30 minute wait.

Claire hated Dumbo so she and I rode around on the bottom the whole time while Ava and Kelly rode at the top! Ava was so excited about everything, but Claire did not like the rides and did not like the characters! She was just too small for Disney World but she was a trooper the whole week.

The highlight of the trip was Ava seeing Cinderella's castle and meeting the princesses! She talked about seeing the princesses for weeks and when it finally got her turn, she froze up a bit. Belle was especially nice to Ava! From the moment we entered the room where the princesses were, she played with Ava and took her around to meet all the other princesses! Ava gave Sleeping Beauty a big hug. The meeting of the princesses was so special because each princess took their time with Ava and we did not feel rushed. On the way out, Ava told me and Kelly thank you for letting her see the princesses...that was worth it!

We got ready to leave around 3:00. The girls needed a nap and it was sooo hot! As we got around to the front of Cinderella's castle, a show started so we waited and watched it! Claire loved the show and even joined in dancing with the music. That is the one aspect of Disney World she loved...the music!

After the sun had gone down and everyone got cleaned up, we went back to the Magic Kingdom around 8:30. We got there just in time to see the Electric Light parade. After that we hit the Country Bear Jamboree, Pirates of the Carribbean, and watched the fireworks! We rode the ferry back to the trams and got back to the hotel around midnight. Everyone collapsed with exhaustion! Kelly and I felt bad because we wore Grandma and Grandpa out on the first day.
